Total Mobility Scheme

Driving Miss Daisy has been delivering excellence in service for members of the Total Mobility Scheme in most regions throughout New Zealand for over a decade.

What is the Total Mobility Scheme?

The Total Mobility Scheme provides discounted travel for people who are unable to use public transport easily or who have mobility/cognitive impairments.

The Total Mobility Scheme is funded by local regional councils and the government. It provides subsidised door to door transport services. Eligible users will be provided with an electronic card or a book of vouchers by your regional council. These can be used anywhere in New Zealand where the scheme operates.

Your fare is subsidised by 50% per trip, up to a maximum regional subsidy. The maximum subsidy varies between regions and is set by your local regional council. The Total Mobility scheme only contributes to the travel element of the total fare.

Our drivers will get you to and from your destination and provide further assistance as needed. We provide independence and peace of mind for you and your family, caregivers, and professional agencies. At Driving Miss Daisy, we tailor the service to meet your needs.

All Driving Miss Daisy franchise owners/drivers are fully NZTA trained to transport passengers with impairment or disabilities and to transport passengers in wheelchairs. They hold a p-Endorsement licence, First Aid Certificate, Dementia-friendly trained and have additional Police Vetting that includes a Children/Youth/Elderly and Vulnerable
Adult check.
