Sandi Suter - Outstanding Performance Award 2018, Supreme Franchise Award 2019
Hi there, my name is Sandi and I have been operating the Timaru Franchise of Driving Miss Daisy since February 2012. I’m married to Barrie and have two grown children. I have lived most of my life in the Timaru community.
Prior to purchasing the Timaru franchise, I worked in pharmacy for 30 years and one of the most enjoyable parts of this role was helping and interacting with the elderly which I have continued to develop with Driving Miss Daisy.
Driving Miss Daisy has been used for all manner of needs. As well as day to day transport needs, we have a number of clients who use us to assist with their grocery shopping and some that we take for an outing each week. We often accompany our clients to their medical appointments and we arrange outings such as picnics, attending shows or ‘High Tea’ at a local café. These can be arranged individually or we can put together a group, enabling our clients to meet new people and make new friends. Our Travel Club has become very popular and some of the places that we have visited include, Greymouth on the Trans Alpine Train, The Wearable Arts in Wellington, and Riverstone Kitchen for lunch, just to name a few. We have also arranged ‘memory tours’ around the Timaru district for some of our clients. We often meet the needs of clients who might have to travel through to Christchurch for medical appointments or to catch a flight.
I have a great team of drivers who all understand the Driving Miss Daisy way and enjoy meeting and assisting all of our clients. We have a wheelchair accessible vehicle and we are also a registered transport provider for ACC. You can use your Total Mobility card with us which will give you half price transportation!
As well as the pleasure of assisting our clients on a day by day basis, a highlight for me was Driving Miss Daisy Timaru being names as ‘Best Emerging Business’ at the 2013 South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
If you believe that we can assist you or your family, feel free to phone us to discuss your needs.
