Hi, I’m Tracey. Having grown up in Christchurch, I left home to join the Airforce and see the world, and was posted to… Wellington! After working in Admin I moved to insurance in the private sector, but this was overtaken by my desire to start a family, and soon I was enjoying being a stay-at-home Mum raising 2 wonderful boys while living in Blenheim. As the boys grew I managed to fit in some part-time care work, first with the elderly, then with people with mental health needs. When I was able to work full-time again, I returned to a career in Insurance, and this brought about a move to Nelson where we have lived since 2010. While some roles centred on sales, I preferred a role that focused on providing service, and building relationships so that clients got to know who they were entrusting their business to.
This was rewarding, but after 11 years I felt I had ‘done my time’ there, and that’s when I saw it; the opportunity to own a Driving Miss Daisy franchise! It was everything I wanted; moving out of the corporate office but still building relationships, while helping people in a very practical way.
Having moved to Richmond in 2016 with my husband Rob, I was ideally placed to take on the Nelson West franchise. And here I am; still the same enjoyment of getting to know our existing clients, and meeting new ones – not just giving rides, but building relationships; it’s not just providing transport but gaining trust, from people who haven’t lost the need to get out and about, but who have lost the means to do so. If that’s you – or a loved one – please give me a call, I’d love to help.
