Tracey & Rob McConnachie
Tracey and Rob have owned the Nelson West franchise for Driving Miss Daisy since October 2018. After being a stay-at-home Mum, Tracey was able to take on some part-time roles in healthcare as the children grew; she then took a ‘detour’ into insurance, but never lost the desire to work in a care-related role, so when the opportunity arose to purchase the Driving Miss Daisy Nelson West Franchise, she knew it was everything she wanted to do. Tracey spent the first 18 months of operation running the business and building it up quickly to a 3-car service with 5 staff, while Rob continued with employment in mental health support; this came to an end in March, at which point he joined Tracey full-time.
Here at Driving Miss Daisy, our focus is on providing a caring and reliable companion driving service for people of all ages – and specialising in assisting the vulnerable people in our community – the elderly, those with physical or mental health disabilities. We enjoy getting to know our existing clients, and meeting new ones – not just giving rides, but building relationships; it’s not just about the cars but the care we provide; and it’s not just providing transport but gaining trust, from people who haven’t lost the need to get out and about, but who have lost the means to do so.
We now have 4 vehicles in our fleet (one is a wheelchair vehicle), and wonderful staff who deliver the usual Driving Miss Daisy quality service; we meet you at your door and provide whatever assistance you need to get you on board and on your way to your destination; an appointment (to the receptionist, not just the front door!), outing, airport, shopping… Whilst there we again provide any assistance you need, either staying with you or just dropping you off. Then we return you home safely to your home. Payment is by cash, eftpos or invoice, with internet banking available, and we accept the Total Mobility Scheme card.
We would love to hear from you if we can help in any way!
