Lower Hutt

Hi, my name is Andrew Dykes. My wife Angela and I are the enthusiastic owners of Driving Miss Daisy Lower Hutt. We really enjoy providing the Driving Miss Daisy service to the Lower Hutt community.

My background includes working for the IHC supporting clients to integrate into the community/ full time caregiving and I have a certificate in Early Childhood teaching. Most of my career has involved being in the retail and hospitality industries. Angela is a qualified Social worker, through her work she was familiar with the Driving Miss Daisy services. Angela saw the opportunity for us to become involved with Driving Miss Daisy and we knew this was perfect for us. Angela works in her Social work job while supporting me with the running of our Driving Miss Daisy Franchise.

Driving Miss Daisy is about going the extra mile for people and that is what appeals to us. We are both interested, considerate people who have backgrounds working with people with disabilities and also the elderly. We enjoy establishing relationships with our clients and taking the time to understand their individual needs. We also realise there is a need for many to have support, a listening ear and to have some fun getting into the community to maintain or regain independence.
