Driving Miss Daisy August 2017 – Driver of the Month.

Christine Oldham nominated by Lynda Moore, Franchisee – Driving Miss Daisy Upper Hutt.

Recently Christine picked up a client with Alzheimer’s who lives alone to take him to the bank and home again. They got to the bank to discover he was overdrawn, he got very distressed at this. Christine thought to ask the bank teller if his pension was going into the account and they advised her that it had stopped in May! She then took him to WINZ who were very helpful and saw him immediately. They advised that the organisation who oversaw his finances had changed him to a different bank. Christine then contacted Lynda for advice and she rang his caregiver who then contacted his Social Worker to rectify the situation.

Lynda was thrilled that Christine understood totally that Driving Miss Daisy do not leave their clients in distress, and that she used her initiative and took him to WINZ to get it sorted as best she could. This resulted in his support network of 3 different organisations being included in the problem and solution.

Christine has only recently joined Lynda’s team. Congratulations from Head Office, Christine!
