I live in Masterton with my husband Dayle and between us we have 5 grown up kids, 12 beautiful grandchildren and a fluffy little dog called Spike, who adores going tramping in the Tararuas, or sailing the Marlborough Sounds as much as we do.

I am a qualified early childhood teacher but after marriage and raising a family I left teaching, and spent some time as a student gaining an advanced Diploma in Business Computing, which lead to a job as a tutor at Wairariki Polytech. Some years later ill health forced a change of lifestyle, so once I’d recovered I started a job that I loved: working with disabled and elderly people; firstly as an assistant to Occupational Therapists at Rotorua’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital (specialist hospital for Rheumatology) then at Wellington Hospital and Kapiti Health Centre working with OT’s and Physiotherapists. Recently I also had the privilege of caring for my own parents through what were very difficult times in their final years – both of them were dependent on wheel chairs for their mobility.

Along with a natural warmth and compassion for people of all ages, I have developed skills in handling people who have mobility issues – whatever the reason – but most importantly treating them with dignity and respect. I have a passion to add value to their lives and to help them remain active and independent as long as possible. Dayle and I love Driving Miss Daisy and the opportunity this business provides us to do just that, for people in our own community.
